Filip Anthonissen

Filip Anthonissen (°1991, BE) is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice centres around the audio-visual arts. The uncanny and eerie sceneries guide us through obsolete rooms and oblivious landscapes where fictitious and animated characters wander through rendered realities and virtual settings. The 3D animations are disclosed in three-dimensional installations that broaden the spectator’s gaze towards immersive sensations and tangible experiences. Anthonissen creates spatial conditions that trigger subliminal notions of survival, ego, trauma and identity formed by relationships. The spectrum of associative references are moreover inspired by motives from religious, psychological and auto-biographical sources. His practice quests for new experiments in the fields of VR and Motion Capture, but also on the domains of airbrush painting and installation art.
